Where is that file I just edited after choosing Open from the browser???
This one is useful for those impatient people like me who can be bothered to download files properly like an attachment in an email, for instance, and just push the Open button and start editing a document, like, say, a word file, save only to realize later that you didn't download it in first place so where the hell happened to all that editing you've done??
Well, before you start cussing like a mad person, you should know that Windows is smart enough to antecipate this scenario and you can easily get to that file still...unless you had the brilliant idea of rebooting the computer before realizing your mistake.
If you choose to Open instead of download from a broswer, for instance, Windows actually secretly disobeys you and downloads it anyway, only that it does so to a temporary folder which gets chucked everytime you log off/shut down.
So you can still find your file on: (root drive, usually C:)\Documents & Settings\(your username)\Local Settings\Temp
However, you shouldn't depend on it cuz it is a temp folder after all so Windows doesn't expect to go probing in there.
And why would you anyway? Now that you know that "don't download" actually means "download but just don't tell me" you might as well give up being so lazy and download the file in first place and you'll never need to know this!
