Dell's the way to go!

I'm back after a long time of not posting anything here. I don't even feel like I have to explain myself since, let's face it, this on-and-off thing with bloggers is just common occurance.

In any case, not much to say for the moment other than now I'm finally back to being decently equipped with my brand new Dell Dimension 9200 (and I've gone beyond the basic configuration and treated myself to a GeForce 7950 Gx2 with 1GB of VRAM!). I must say Dell never ceases to please me. I've used them countless times now to get workstations for work, but I hadn't yet used for personal reasons and I am happy to report that they are just as efficient as when dealing with the business customers.

There was a little of a setback initially 'cuz I ordered the machine the week right before Christmas so understandably they warned me of a delay in delivering the machine due to heavy workload. So frustrantly, I got an email after boxing day was gone that my machine would be delivered only around mid-January. I wasn't too happy at all, however, as I said, it was kind of expected.

Well, to my suprise, comes January 3rd, Dell lets me know that my computer could be delivered that coming Friday. Woo-hoo! And just as promised, here it was.

In short, the machine, again a Dimension 9200, is absolutely worth every penny. Everything runs smooth and I couldn't be happier with the performance. Plus, for me, just the fact that I've got 500GB to spend is definitely something to write home about since I've been fighting against my data on my laptop which was the only decent machine I had left till I got this one now (my last desktop system, I put it together in 2000 and impressively enough it did stood against the tides of technology quite nicely till last year when the hardware just all went bonkers).

And the excitment is not over yet! Soon I shall take advantage of my "free" (gotta pay £11 for shipment and delivery) upgrade to Vista whenever beloved Microsoft decides to ship it.

Anyway, I just thought I'd start the year in a good note and share my content with Dell.

So, happy new year! so far it's been a good start!
